An Incomplete and Unofficial List of Self-Care Activities

Sometimes in life you get drained and need to take a break, but don’t know what to do to have some time for yourself. At least that’s true for myself, I know I can’t work anymore but I don’t know what I feel like doing to calm down and chill out. So here is my incomplete and unofficial list of self-care activities.

  1. Go for a walk
  2. Read a book
  3. Have a bath
  4. Watch an action movie
  5. Watch a childrens movie
  6. Watch an animated movie
  7. Binge watch a TV show
  8. Draw
  9. Work on your WIP (work in progress)
  10. Call a friend/family/loved one/supportive person
  11. Do a work out
  12. Go for a jog/run
  13. Read a graphic novel/comic
  14. Light a candle
  15. Light some incense
  16. Light some sage
  17. Listen to an audiobook
  18. Listen to a podcast
  19. Clean out your closet
  20. Do some gardening
  21. Watch your favourite youtuber
  22. Make cookies
  23. Bake a cake
  24. Re-organize your bookshelf
  25. Re-organize your dresser
  26. Go to the library and look at the all the books
  27. Go to a cafe and read/write/draw/listen to music
  28. Listen to your favourite band/singer/artist
  29. Hang out with your best friend
  30. Hang out with your significant other
  31. Put on an outfit that makes you feel amazing
  32. Go to a bookstore and look at all the pretty things (and try not to buy everything)
  33. Curl up in a comfy blanket
  34. Have a nap
  35. Dance
  36. Go for a swim

As I said, this is incomplete and unofficial. These are just things that I sometimes do as self-care. They may or may not help you, but they can at least give you ideas.

Sincerely,
Alex

  1. It’s a great list, especially the items or tips involving looking at books or reading; something I should do more of. Also it’s great to have as something for you to come back to later on- when in need. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
