2022 Anticipated Releases – Part 2

Hello friends,

I am back with part 2 of my 2022 anticipated releases! This is in no way a complete list of all the books coming out in 2022 (that would be nearly impossible), however this is a list of 2022 releases that I have seen and that look interesting to me! Let’s get going!

Hell Followed with Us by Andrew Joseph White – June 7

“Sixteen-year-old trans boy Benji is on the run from the cult that raised him—the fundamentalist sect that unleashed Armageddon and decimated the world’s population. Desperately, he searches for a place where the cult can’t get their hands on him, or more importantly, on the bioweapon they infected him with.”

Listen, YA Horror is something that I am still discovering, but it’s something that I have really enjoyed so far. So a horror book about a post-apocalyptic world created by a cult? That’s looking for the one boy who holds the bioweapon they created? I mean… yes!

Also just look at that cover!

A Song of Silver and Gold by Melissa Karibian – June 15

Alright, a princess disguises herself as a man to become Captain of a ship in order to iradicate the sea of sirens. When she returns her home was hit by a terrible siren attack. A siren warrior must work with a sea witch to undo her own banishment and somehow these two cross paths and maybe have complicated feelings? First of all Sirens! I am a sucker for sirens, so yes. This has me hooked right away.

A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland – June 21

“To prove his loyalty to the queen, his sister, Kadou takes responsibility for the investigation of a break-in at one of their guilds, with the help of his newly appointed bodyguard, the coldly handsome Evemer, who seems to tolerate him at best. In Arasht, where princes can touch-taste precious metals with their fingers and myth runs side by side with history, counterfeiting is heresy, and the conspiracy they discover could cripple the kingdom’s financial standing and bring about its ruin.”

Royalty, bodyguard, conspiracies, secrets? I mean, some fantasy with some intrigue is all I ask for. This sounds so good.

Odder Still D.N. Bryn – June 21

“Rubem of No-Man’s Land was content keeping to his wine, his pets, and his extensive collection of fishnets. But since a sentient, fuel-producing parasite bonded to his brainstem, every morally-depraved scientist and hardcore rebel for a hundred miles wants to ruthlessly dissect him. The parasite itself is no better, influencing his emotions and sassing him with his own memories as it slowly takes over his body.”

I’ve read Our Bloody Pearl by D.N. Bryn which is the prequel story in this series/world and it was a favourite of last year. So it’s no surprise that I am so excited to get my hands on this one too! It sounds so intriguing and I’m so into it.

Silk Fire by Zabe Ellor – July 5

“Set in a planet-sized matriarchal city where magic and technology freely bleed together, a male courtesan’s quest for vengeance against his aristocrat father draws him into an ancient struggle between dragons, necromancers, and his home district’s violent history.”

All I needed to know was dragons, necromancers and vengeance and I was on board. What else could you want?

They Drown Our Daughters by Katrina Monroe – July 12

“They say Cape Disappointment is haunted.
That if you can hear the call of the water
It’s already too late…”

A water based horror that gives me all the dark and creepy vibes from those three lines alone? I mean, yes please.

A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadow – July 26

“Byzantine politics, lush sexual energy, and a queer love story that is by turns sweet and sultry. A Strange and Stubborn Endurance is an exploration of gender, identity, and self-worth. It is a book that will live in your heart long after you turn the last page.”

A political marriage between two men in a place where such relationships are forbidden, with the threat of death and secrets to uncover this sounds like the mystery, high fantasy story I would eat up.

Rep: MM Romance

High Times in The Low Parliament by Kelly Robson – Aug 9

“Lana Baker is Aldgate’s finest scribe, with a sharp pen and an even sharper wit. Gregarious, charming, and ever so eager to please, she agrees to deliver a message for another lovely scribe in exchange for kisses and ends up getting sent to Low Parliament by a temperamental fairy as a result.”

Fairies, a motley crew working to save humanity, and a sapphic romance? What more could you want?
