Hello friends, I am back with another Top Ten Tuesday! This weeks theme is books on my spring 2022 TBR. I’m not big on strict TBRs because I’m a mood reader and I love to just pick whatever my brain is feeling. But, I do always have books that I’d love to get to soon. So, here are some books that I’d love to get to in spring this year.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The Romantic Agenda by Claire Khan
This is a romance about a love triangle where the two main characters are ace. I mean, can it get any better than that? Joy has been in love with her best friend for a long time, but has never done anything about it. When he announces that he has found the love of his life, and it’s not Joy, and decides to show him what he’s missing. Fox decides to help her and they decide to pretend to fall in love to make Joy’s best friend jealous. And we all know where that goes.
Never Been Kissed by Timothy Janovsky
A story about a guy working at a drive-in theater who sends emails one night to all his old crushes and then his #1 crush ends up working at said drive-in theater? How can I say no? I can’t! This sounds so sweet, funny, and adorable. I also am hyped for the fact that the main character is ace. So yay for representation and cute romances with lots of movie references!
If You Change Your Mind by Robby Webber
An aspiring screenwriter, an old heartbreak, and a new boy in town could really change Harry’s plans for summer. I can’t wait to read this one. It just sounds so cute and sweet and I love the idea of Harry having this big plan with no distractions to achieve his goals, only to have two very distracting boys come into his life.
Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly
This one has been making the rounds and I still need to get to it! I have read Anita Kelly’s novella series and ADORED it! So I am sure I will adore this one too! Two contestants falling in love on the set of a cooking competition? I mean what more could you ask for?
Non-Player Character by Victoria Corva
A story about 32-year-old Tar who feels like an NPC in their own life, has been sidelined by anxiety and has a love of videogames, only to be invited to play a tabletop role-playing game that is supposed to change their life. And it does, because the game is real. I mean, I love tabletop games, so slapping that in a fantasy story about friendship and like living life… just yes. I can’t wait to read this one.
Lovelorn by April-Jane Rowan
Victorian England, a crystal kingdom filled with Fair Folk, a guy looking to trap a Kelpie and a woman looking for her son. Unsuspecting mortals that cross into the mysterious world. This is giving me all the creepy vibes that I love with my Fair Folk/Fae stories. I am so excited to see what happens to these characters and how it all unfolds.
An Accident of Stars by Foz Meadows
A portal fantasy about a girl who stumbles into a fantasy world and her fate becomes intertwined with three very different women and potentially have to save the whole world. I mean, it just sounds interesting. So many different things going on. So many people involved. Can this girl, who accidentally walked into this world, be the key to saving it? I need to know!
In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens
A young prince goes on a coming-of-age tour only to be kidnapped and need to rely on a pirates help to save him. This sounds like my kind of chaotic sea adventure vibes that I enjoy and I’m really looking forward to reading what happens between these two.
Master of One by Jaida Jones and Dani Bennett
This is another one that had been making the rounds that I just haven’t gotten to yet. This is about Rags, a thief who is forced to steal a fae relic for the royal sorcerer. Only to find out that the “relic” is a person and there is a much bigger plot going on than he initially realized.
