Top Ten Tuesday – Sapphic Books (Freebie)

Hello friends, I am back with another Top Ten Tuesday! This weeks theme is a freebie! So I’m going to tell you about 10 Sapphic books that I’ve enjoyed or that I want to read. This is obviously not an exhaustive list, but these are just some I’ve loved or are excited to read soon.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant

If you like horror, murderous mermaids, scientists, and a variety of representation this is the book for you. I really enjoyed this one and it was the horror and mayhem I loved.

Shake Things Up by Skye Kilaen

If you like road trips, music festivals, polyamory, complicated relationships, and self-discovery this is the story for you! It was cute and fun, and the plot was great. I really enjoyed it and all the discussions about relationships, sexuality, and I highly recommend it.

You Sexy Thing by Cat Rambo

This is a story about ex-military personnel working at a restaurant in space. It doesn’t focus on a relationship, but we have some very diverse characters and the plot is really interesting. I think this is a great light sci-fi that doesn’t focus on the romance or the sciencey bits, but it’s pretty fast paced and exciting!

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

Do you like high fantasy? Do you like D&D? Do you like cozy stories with low stakes? Welp, this is the book for you! I think I will forever scream about this book and how cozy and soft it is. I really loved it and all the softness and quietness of this book. Also the slow burn romance is *chefs kiss*.

Not Your Type by Elizabeth Jeannel

This is a really amazing sapphic romance that discusses trauma, therapy, self acceptance, and acceptance of others. I really enjoyed how deeply this story went into the trauma and the issues that arise from abusive past relationships. Definitely check out content warnings for this one if you’re interested, because it is tough at points, but if you are interested in a sapphic romance with ace representation then I would recommend it for sure.

The Romance Recipe by Ruby Barrett

I haven’t read this one yet but oh boy how it looks amazing! A restaurant owner and a chef get into a romance. Also has a older main character figuring out her sexuality. Also there’s a foodie TV show involved?! I mean… how could I not love this?

Can’t Resist Her by Kianna Alexander

A second chance romance where two women are at odds about their thoughts about progress in their home town, but they both remember the heat they have between each other. Can they agree to disagree long enough to fall in love? I mean, this sounds so amazing. And I am a sucker for second chance romances, so yes. I’m here for it.

In The Event of Love by Courtney Kae

This is the queer Hallmark movie plot we all wanted. An event planner whose job is imploding and her one-time best friend whose struggling tree farm is the only thing between Fern Falls and corporate greed. A fundraiser to save the farm. Putting heartbreak aside to get it done. I mean… YES. All the yes. I can’t wait to read this!

Handmade With Love by Rachel Bowdler

Again a second chance romance! A new job as a city council member brings Anna back to the hometown she vowed never to return to and her ex can only give her the cold shoulder. As Anna tries to save her home from tourists and her fathers health begins to fail, old emotions begin to return between the two. This sounds like it’s going to be tough and deal with a lot of hard topics, but will be a great story at the same time.

The Fate of Stars by SD Simper

Sworn enemy princesses and a sapphic mermaid/pirate romance. That’s it. That’s the post. All I needed to hear was sapphic mermaid/pirate romance and I am hyped to read this! Give me the mermaids and the pirates!

  1. Great list! I *adored* Legends & Lattes and it’s one of my favourite reads of the year! Shake Things Up looks really cute and I also love seeing more poly romances 😍 I’m keen to read In the Event of Love too!
