Hello friends, I am back with another Top Ten Tuesday! This weeks theme is bookish characters! This is all about readers, writers, authors, professors in books. So, I’m going to give you a list of ten books and only say one word about them, which will be hard for me!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Sam – Sing Anyway by Anita Kelly
Sam is a professor and lives in a house full of maps. They are so adorable and I’d probably love to hit and listen to them talk about their interests.
Viv – Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
While Viv is an Orc adventurer. She loves books and to read. I adored watching her start a coffee shop and the little hints of her love of books and reading.
Declan – Into The Winter Woods by Isabelle Adler
Declan is a mystery author whose latest book sales has tanked. He goes to a small village to get away and write but ends up at the middle of a murder mystery. I loved Declan and his antics.
Saffron – Prince of the Sorrows by Kellen Graves
I mean, I’m in love with this book and Saffron is an absolute idiot but I love him dearly. If you like fae and big old libraries and mystery and having your heart ripped out then this book is a must.
Ari – Restricted by A.C. Thomas
Dr. Aristotle Campbell is a geologist but I’m pretty sure all people with PhD’s or whatever equivalent need to read a lot to get there.
Theo – Captivated by A.C. Thomas
Theo is a Dr. like his brother Aristotle except he is a linguist so he definitely is bookish.
Edwin – A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske
Edwin is a total grump but he loves books and magic. He pours over books to learn more and finds solitude in his books. Definitely a bookworm.
Bilbo – The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
I mean, the quintessential fantasy bookish character right? He loves his books and maps in Bag End and he is an author too!
Alex – Nightbooks by J.A. White
A boy who writes horror stories and those stories save his life. Definitely a great bookish character.
Amastan – The Perfect Assassin by K.A. Doore
From a family of assassins all he wants to do is his job keeping records and writing them, but gets pulled into a mystery anyway. Since he reluctantly becomes an assassin and would rather read or write I’d say he’s pretty bookish.
Who are your favourite bookish characters?
Love that you’ve included Sam and Viv. I love them so much! 😍 They’re such great characters from amazing books!
