This one is a little bit of a different one I suppose. It’s really just a reminder to myself that sometimes, regardless of what is happening or how I feel, there is always something else. For me books are a safe haven, an escape from the world. When things are stressful, complicated, overwhelming books are there for me as a way to cope with the weight of the world.
There will always be more books
So, this one is really just a reminder to myself. It’s a reminder that no matter what there will always be another world to dive into. No matter how difficult things are or how tough things seem there will always be something to escape to, at least for a little while. I know not everyone reads or loves reading, but everyone has something that they can use to cope with things. It could be exercise, drawing, writing, videogames, hiking, whatever it is it will always be there for you.
This one is something that I learned when I was in an emotional state that was making things more difficult for myself. We all have those moments where life is super busy and you feel like you have a million things to do so you feel guilty about doing the things you love and therefore you don’t. So, you’ve stopped doing the things you love and that make you feel better and then you just continue to feel worse.
What I’m trying to say is that this one kind of relates to self-care in that no matter what, no matter how hard life is, there will always be more of what helps you cope. For me there will always be more books for me to read. There will always be new and exciting books being published, new authors to discover, new additions to series I already love, new interesting subgenres to explore. It’s a reminder that there is always a safe way to cope with life.
Sincerely,
Alex
