Fellowship Of The Ring Book Tag

Hello Friends,

Today I have a little book tag! I first saw this tag on Zezee’s blog here. It was created on UnputdownableBooks. This tag is a Fellowship of the Ring tag, which of course I was excited about. So read on and see which books I picked!

Gandalf – A Book That Taught You Something

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Funnily enough this is the first book(s) on the list for a tag about The Lord of The Rings, but it is the best answer for this question. I learned a lot from reading this trilogy. I learned about myself and my world view by the end of this trilogy.

Frodo – A Book That Left A Mark On You

This one I could go figuratively or literally, but funnily enough I have a book that did both. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell is a book that really touched me for a lot of different reasons. It is a doorstop of a book, but I really did love it and I ended up loving it so much that I got a tattoo of a quote from the book a couple years after reading it. It’s a line from the first full quote I have ever actually remembered from a book.

Legolas – A Book You Finished In One Sitting

Bloom by Kevin Panetta and Savanna Ganucheau is an absolutely adorable graphic novel about two boys falling in love over a summer while working in a bakery. I mean, how can that not sound adorable? I finished it one night because I simply was so happy reading it that I couldn’t put it down.

Gimli – A Book That Features an Unlikely Friendship

The Last Dragon by Silvana de Mari is about the last elf boy to exist in a world where elves are seen as “dangerous” and “evil”. This elf, Yorsh, is lost and alone in this dark world and ends up making friends with humans, even though they are supposed to hate elves, as well as a dragon.

Merry – A Book That Pleasantly Surprised You

The Prince and The Dressmaker by Jen Wang looked so sweet but I was really pleasantly surprised by the story and characters. I was also so surprised by the beautiful clothing design in this graphic novel!

Pippin – A Book That Made You Laugh

The Adventure Zone: Murder on the Rockport Limited by Carey Pietsch, Clint McElroy, Griffin McElroy, Justin McElroy, and Travis McElroy is incredibly funny. I mean, the McElroy boys are hilarious on their own in all of their podcasts, but this adaptation is so beautifully done and the humour is not missing at all.

Boromir – A Book/Series You Think Ended Too Soon

Song of the Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell was a book I was obsessed with when I was younger. I can honestly say that I have read this book multiple times and I would have absolutely devoured a series about Elaine of Ascolat.

Sam – A Book With Memorable Side Characters Who Stole The Show

This one was hard but I landed on the Lumberjanes series. Some of the side characters, like Camp Scout-master Rosie, could definitely hold their own in their own series. I would read a whole series about the side characters in these graphic novels!

Gollum – A Book That Had Great Potential But Disappointed You In The End

Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James had so much hype and I was really hoping that it was going to be my favourite book of the year, but sadly it was pretty disappointing for me in the end.

Aragon – A Good Book With A Bad/Average Cover

This is an oldie, but I loved it when I was younger. Gone by Michael Grant was a series that I really enjoyed. The only downside of these books were the covers. All of the books have this same type of cover and I honestly can’t stand it.

  1. Glad you did the tag. I’ve been seeing lots of reviews saying that Black Leopard, Red Wolf was disappointing or hard to complete. I still want to read it though since I really like Marlon James’s other work.

    1. I will say there were some amazing parts to it for sure! There were things I absolutely loved, but there were things that just didnt give me the feeling I was hoping for. I reviewed it after finishing it and it was one of the hardest reviews to write because I was so conflicted about how I felt about it. I hope you enjoy it!
